Taking the plunge

 I did it:

ST330019

Results:  Interesting.  Good, but unnerving.  If one were to close one's eyes and imagine one was drinking malibu and coke, one could enjoy it quite a bit.  Apparently if you mix lemon and pineapple together, it tastes a lot like coconut.

Speaking of plunges, congratulations to Sam and Steve for getting engaged!!!! I am so happy for you!

Just to stay consistent with the annual blog posts.

 Hi.

Check this out:

blue-hawaii

I have not tried it yet, but I saw it at 7-11.  It does look infinately more appetizing than the previous cucumber pepsi.

Some of you may know that I am a big horse nerd.  Here are some blogs I have been enjoying lately:

www.fuglyhorseoftheday.blogspot.com

www.ourfirsthorse.com

Have also started a new diet that is consuming lots of my attention (in a good way) - 3 kilos in 3 weeks ain't bad.

Anyway, Joey D's birthday last weekend was fun.  Watching "Rome" is good.  80's parties are good. Being more than slightly associative and seeing the word "public" and automatically thinking "enemy" is fun.  Generally, being 30 is good.

And lastly, here are some ideas:

1.  what if our bones were telescopic?  As in we could collapse them like a telescope?  Then we could get all small at night and use our wrinkled-up, michelin-man skin as a blanket.

2. If you had/have a friend with scraggly long Jesus hair, don't  listen to them if they tell you your hair "looks really pretty".  You need a haircut.

3. Nevermind, there is no 3.

Hello Hello

It's a sleepy saturday morning here.  I am gearing up for a Die Hard marathon today.  Yippee kai yay.

In SuperAwesomeSweet™ News,  Sousuke managed to get us a Nikon D40x  plus double zoom kit for less than 10% of its retail price... apparently a nearby camera shop went out of business and this was the display model.  It is so sexy.  Even if Kimura Takuya and his mom hair is the spokesman. So pretty:

Well, it has been a long time, hasn't it?  I am sick today, in bed, on 5 kinds of medications.  So I have a little time to write.  What about?  Well, I  thought the charcoal grey blog had to go since it is summer now.  I've been studying for TEFL certification lately.   Not much else has been going on.  Had a few parties, got my picture up at SpaceCreate for ladies' darts high score, and tried ice cucumber pepsi (disgusting):

Anyway, nothing else has been happening, really, at least not anything I'd write about on here.  However, I have taken a few pictures and I plan to post some as soon as I get the camera back from S.  Have a good weekend!

Sssaaaaaaamu-mu-mu-mui!

It is COLD today!  And for the first time this winter, dangerously snowy.  Not that this crappy phone pic really illustrates it well:

Taken from my office window.

Other than that, I made some fabulous Valentine's day cake.  Poorly assembled, perhaps, but tasted good!

Made from regular and kahlua brownies, and chocolate, kahlua, orange, and strawberry cakes.

The cakes were so easy!  Let's cooking by following the simple, quick mocrowave recipe!

First, choose your flavor.  Put it in a bowl.
[ I used 2 squares of melted chocolate for 1 cake, about a tablespoon of Kahlua in another, a fresh-squeezed tangerine (with pulp) and a little cointreau in another, and about 5 pureed strawberries in the last cake. ]
Then:
add 2 tablespoons of oil or melted butter
add 3 tablespoons of sugar, mix.
add 1 egg, mix
add 2 tablespoons of flour, 1/8 teaspoon baking powder, a dash of salt, and mix

put wax paper at the bottom of a microwave-safe tupperware container, butter the sides, and poor the batter in.  Microwave on high (I have 500w)  for about 3 minutes. Depending on the size of the tupperware, the cakes come out very thin, perfect for layering. Enjoy.

I really like the small, managable size of this recipe.  It makes clean-up so simple.

One final thing, there is a new Super Denkodo being built across from Uesugi Stadium in Yonezawa.  Behold!
